Compared to America, Koreans are very formal dressers. In Korea, I rarely see men without a dress shirt or a polo shirt. Even college students dress pretty nicely most of the time. This is very different from the U. S. High school and university students often wear T-shirts, sandals and shorts to school. The West Coast is generally even more casual than the East coast. We often don't even wear shoes when we go out in California. It's a very casual place.
