Unfortunately, in the United States and Canada train travel isn't as common as it is in Korea. This stems from the fact that the country is so large that train travel just takes too long. A train ride from Northern California near San Francisco to Southern California (Los Angeles) takes almost 18 hours. By car the same trip would only take 8 hours and by airplane the trip would only take an hour and a half. And because train travel takes so long, very few people use it, making it expensive. Quite often it is even more expensive than traveling by plane! 해석 불행히도 미국과 캐나다의 기차여행은 한국에서처럼 보편화 되어 있지 않습니다. 이 같은 사실은 나라가 너무 커서 기차여행은 시간이 너무 오래 걸리기 때문이죠. 샌프란시스코 근교의 캘리포니아 북부에서 캘리포니아 남부지방(LA)까지 기차를 타고 거의 18시간이 걸립니다. 차로 같은 거리를 여행하면 8시간, 비행기로는 겨우 한 시간 반정도 걸립니다. 또 기차여행은 시간이 너무 오래 걸리기 때문에 매우 소수의 사람들만 이용하게 되고 결국에는 요금도 비싸지게 됩니다. 비행기로 여행하는 것보다 비싼 경우도 상당히 많답니다!
