When we head off on road trips we often like to stop off at a nice "greasy spoon". A greasy spoon is a restaurant that serves nice greasy, unhealthy food. Keep in mind that when you're on vacation you often like to eat food that you wouldn't normally eat because it's so unhealthy. That's why there are so many greasy spoons and fast food joints on the side of the road as you're driving through the country.
