I don't think people in Korea really understand what a big deal these revelations about the corruption in American companies really is. It's a huge deal. Americans are all shocked that there is so much corruption going on in companies. I often hear Koreans say, "Your country doesn't have corruption like Korea does." I always tell them that we have made corruption part of our system - lobbying is legal and you can't get elected in America without getting huge amounts of money from corporations. But I always thought that the companies were honest about their earnings and profits. I guess I was wrong about that. There's corruption everywhere.
